Washington DC

Walk, don’t walk,

Don’t ask me,

I’m just passing by.

I’m minding my business,

Thinking of nothing,

Absorbing the tones of the street.

Then you come along,

And my lens re-awakens,

A moment where I stand quiet.

Quick as a flash

I point and I shoot,

Before you can even react.

We share a moment,

You and I,

As sacred and eternal

As moments can be.

The world stands still,

For a blink of an eye,

Then resumes its rhythmic parade.

Walk, don’t walk,

Don’t ask me,

I’m just passing by.
